The de Ciutiis Sisters

The writing partners, Marianna and Michelle de Ciutiis, are relatively new to screenwriting. Marianna is a theologian and novelist and Michelle has spent most of her adult life working in marketing. Tired of inventing brand stories for the mad men of advertising, Michelle found a new passion for fictional storytelling. Together they have embarked on a journey to join the brave band of pioneers battling the status quo in Hollywood.

Their first screenplay, Cyrano, is a retelling of the legendary Cyrano De Bergerac. Their new take on the story elevates Roxane’s role to that of a poet-coder in the French Resistance at the height of WWII and gives audiences a hero who has to overcome what some see as a disability (not just a large nose) to get the attention of his love.

They have written four screenplays that take on social issues to deliver relevant storytelling with an emotional hook.

They write from a philosophy of their own making:

We believe in a world where love is the most important thing in a person’s life.

Where people are open and accepting of

each other’s differences.

We know that the lack of self-worth and self-love can hold you back from fulfilling your heart’s purpose.

But a true friend believes in us,

lifts us up when we doubt ourselves.

We believe that the ultimate act of true love

is self-sacrifice.

That love can triumph against all odds.

That when you truly love someone, it is to the depths of their soul not their superficial beauty.

We believe that storytelling can evoke emotions that alter perspectives and create a kinder more empathetic world.
